Senator Lisa Murkowski looked like a small child when she recently spoke the words that seem obviously true: Republicans in Congress are afraid of Trump. And that means all of them: Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Foghorn Leghorn from Louisiana, all of them. Frightened as children of Daddy’s wrath. Afraid to step out of line, even if it means giving away the nation they swore an oath to defend.
And for all of the ones who want to wave their dicks around and call their political enemies weak (a Senator from Oklahoma comes to mind here), they also have a job to do, and are refusing to do it. Letting madman Trump run roughshod over them—and by extension Congress itself—is an cowardly act that, when the history books are written someday, they will rightfully be named and shamed for allowing it to happen.
These are just a few words typed out by an American on his iPhone on a Saturday afternoon in April of 2025, but they come from a patriot who has more courage, apparently, that all the Republicans in Congress put together. And I’ll accept whatever blowback comes my way for saying that, too. That’s what happens when you love your country and refuse to see it taken away.
250 years after Patrick Henry uttered the words “Give me Liberty, or give me Death!” it must be stated here that any American who fears whatever Trump might say about them, or threaten to do to them, isn’t worthy of considering themselves as such.
