Thanks for your kind words. I also have a Rudy May card from 1978, but anything that he did back in 1965 would have been lost upon the kid that I was at the time. The inspiration came, strangely enough, from one sentence of text that appears on the reverse side of his 1972 card. It sent me digging on the internet, and there it was. There was a reason why, seven years after the fact, Topps was still sharing the story. It's almost too strange to be believed, but that's why I enjoyed it so much. All the best to you.
